In his youth he worked for his father and still later at the sugar beet factory and the Fremont Stove Works.

He came to Port Clinton in 1915 to help his aunt, the late Mrs. Julia Gerner in the furniture and undertaking business. In 1914 he married Clara Hoffman of Mil'lersville and moved to Port Clinton to make his permanent residence. In 1933 Mr. Wolf married Leah Darlison McRitchie.

She died in 1960 and in 1962 he married Edna Graves Christiansen, who survives. In 1935 Mr. Wolf entered into partnership with Mrs. Julia Gerner in the buisness known as Gerner and Wolf. In 1942 Mrs.

Gerner retired from the furniture store business and the undertaking establishment which bore their name. In 1952 Mr. Wolf's two sons became partners and continued in business until his retirement in January of this year. Mr. Wolf had been a patient in Magruder hospital since February 17.

The Herald Extends Its Sympathies In These DEATHS MRS, LAURA E. YOST Mrs. Laura E. Yost, 77, of 836 McKinley avenue, Toledo, a native of Oak Harbor, died at her home Sunday. She had lived in Toledo for 60 years.

Last rites were held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Good Shepherd church in Toledo. Burial was made in Calvary cemetery. Surviving are a son Paul E. Yost of Toledo; daughters Mrs.

Angela Terbille of Toledo and Mrs. Herman Turnow of Curtice; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. C. 'E. KOCHENSPARGER Clarence E.

Kochensparger, 58, of 1303 Putnam street, Sandusky, died Sunday morning at his home after a long illness. He retired in 1958 due to ill health after being employed by the Pennsylvania railroad fifteen years. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Holy Angels church in Sandusky. Burial was made in St.

Joseph cemetery with the Charles J. Andres Sons func home in charge of Mr. Kochensparger is survived by his wife Olivia; three sons, Frank and Clarence, of Sandusky and John with the Marines in Parris Island, N. five daughters Mrs. Donald Bretz of Monroeville, Mrs.

William Fultz and Mrs. Ray. Thom, both of Castalia, Mrs. Alfred Schweifert of Sandusky and Ruth at home; 18 grandchildren; three brothers Edgar and John, both of Circleville and Harry of Catawba; two sisters Mrs. Hazel Justice and Mrs.

Roy Leist, both of Cir- cleville. MRS. ALICE LYONS Mrs. Alice Lyons, 85, a resident of the County Home, died last Wednesday night in the home. There are no survivors.

Mrs. Lyons was born in Lakeside September 22, 1878, the daughter of John and Julia Jamison. Funeral services were held Friday: at 2 p.m. from Crosser funeral home in Oak Harbor, Rev. Gordon Groby officiating.

Burial was made in Clemons cemetery at Marblehead. EVA JO WOOD Mrs. Era Jo Wood, 83, of 1107 West street, Genoa, died at her home Thursday. A native Ci Genoa, she was a lifelong resident of that community. Last rites were held Sunday at 2 p.m.

May B. Vandersall, 85, of Elmore, former resident director of Flower hospital nurses home 'in Toledo, died April 7. She was the widow of the late Chester E. Vandersall. Surviving are a son 'Homer Vandersall of Elmore; brothers Haven Aldrich of Fremont and Byron Aldrich of Sandusky; two grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Last rites were held Friday at 1:30 p.m., from the Sabroske and Myers funeral home in Elmore. Burial was in Toledo Memorial Park. MRS. LAURA DIETRICH Mrs. Laura Dietrich, 94, of Route 2, Oak Harbor, died at her home Monday afternoon, after an illness of two weeks.

A native of Fremont, she was born January 18, 1870, the daughter of George and Mary Wauch. Her husband, William, died in 1940. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Clarence Krampien of Oak Harbor; a sister Mrs. William Kardatzke of Oak Harbor; one grand.

daughter Mrs. Robert Buhrow of Oak Harbor; and 3 great grandchildren. Mrs. Dietrich was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, a charter member of its Ladies Aid and an honorary member of the Sewing Circle.

Last rites were held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the church, Rev. Louis Hermansen Kingsway officiating. Burial was made in Roose cemetery with the Crosser funeral home in charge of arrangements. TED HOLLINGER, SR.

Ted Hollinger, 59, of Danbury township, was pronounced dead on arrival at Magruder hospital Monday afternoon. He was stricken with a heart attack at U. S. Gypsum company where he was a mechanic. A native of Michigan, he was born September 9, 1905, the son of Eli and Ann Vany Hollinger.

The body was taken from Gerner and Wolf funeral home at 1 p.m. Thursday to St. Paul's Lutheran church in Danbury to lie in state until time of services at 2 p.m. The Rev. William Bower officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife Nellie; a son Ted, of Gypsum; daughters Mrs. Jack Peters of Danbury and Sandra Jean at home; two sisters Mrs. Frank Schiestel of Teeswater, Ontario, and Mrs. Fred Dietrich of Gypsum. Widely Known Men To Talk Coming to Trinity Methodist church here April 19 to 22, to lead in four days of spiritual enrichment will be Dr.

G. Ernest Thomas, minister of First Methodist church in Birmingham, Mich. Dr. Thomas went to Birmingham after twelve years as director of spiritual life for the general board of evangelism of the Methodist church. He is widely known for his books, Dr.

Thomas is a graduate of Boston Uinversity and also holds honorary degrees from several universities. He is in demand throughout the country for ferences and retreats for ministers and for laymen. On Wednesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Emanuele Santi, codirector of Casa Materna, will be at Trinity Methodist.

He will tell about the home, how it came to be, and how it continues to be a "home with the love of a mother." Rev. Santi also will show slides and entertain with violin selections. Port Clinton Youth Crushed To Companion Crash In Port Clinton's vacationland area had a taste of things to come over the weekend, as hundreds of motorists flocked into the community, taking advantage of the good weather. And as has happened in the past, they accompanied by traffic accidents. One fatality was reported, along with injuries to others. Quisno, district manager of the Ohio State Employment offices in Port Clinton, Sandusky, and Norwalk, sustained hip and leg injuries when he was struck by an automobile while crossing the street in front of the Southern Hotel in Columbus. He was attending a meeting of state employment executives in Columbus. Mr. Quisno was first taken to Grant hospital in Columbus and then brought here. FREAK ACCIDENT A freak accident occurred in Elmore Wednesday afternoon when a large truck, rounding a curve and entering the town district, lost its rear dual wheels, which struck a store window plunging 12 feet into the store.

There were no injuries however. Investigation of the accident was made by the sheriff department. TAKEN TO HOSPITAL Mrs. Kenneth Witzen of Orch- ard Beach was taken to Magruder hospital Thursday morning and admitted as a medical patient. NAMED REPRESENTATIVE Mrs.

A passenger in the Plank car, Eddie Cordell, 14, of 1771 South Coy Road, Oregon, was taken to St. Charles hospital for treatment. According to the state patrol, Plank car came to a halt in the yard of Carl Cook, at Curtice in western Ottawa county, after hitting a guard rail and overturning three times.

The patrol said the two boys were spending the night at the Plank youth's home and decided to take a ride around 2 a.m. Saturday, without getting permission from Plank's parents to use the car. The Cordell youth was thrown from the car after it hit the guard rail. He walked nearly two miles to his home, arriving around 4 a.m., two hours after the accident. The Plank youth was crushed under the car which struck the guard rail.

He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gerald. L. Plank; brothers Gerald, Daniel, Patrick, and Timothy; sisters Sue, Barbara and Jane, all of Oregon; and grandmother Mrs.

Jane Klewer of San Diego, Calif. James Silverwood, 28, of Box 223, State Port Clinton, sustained critical injuries Sunday at 12:56 p.m. as his motorcycle went out of control and struck a parked car owned by Lyle Mayhew, 639 South Madison street. Taken to Magruder hospital in a Sanders ambulance, he was found to have fractures and other severe injuries. According to police, Silverwood had come off the Portage river bridge and as he approached the corner of Monroe and Perry, the cycle went out of control and crashed into the Mayhew vehicle.
